Award-winning singer, Simisola Kosoko, known by her stage name, Simi, earlier revealed that her husband, Adekunle Gold, gave her the idea for her song, ‘Men Are Cr@zy’.

It may be recalled that Simi’s recently released song, ‘Men Are Cr@zy,’ which features Tiwa S@vage, stirred controversy and was received with mixed feelings. Many male fans berated the female musicians over the condescending tone of the song.

Speaking on how the song was developed, Simi revealed on Angela Yee’s podcast, ‘Way Up,’ that her husband, singer Adekunle Gold, was the brain behind it.

According to her, the song was originally recorded as a solo track but after doing two verses she realised that something was missing, and that was when she thought about getting Tiwa.

The songstress, however, admitted that even though their songs don’t go in the same direction, she felt it would be nice to find balance with the ‘Koroba’ crooner.

She said; “My husband gave me the idea for my song, ‘Men Are Cr@zy’. He was like, ‘Babe, how about we do a song and you say men are cr@zy but I still want one in my bed?’

I was like, ‘Oh yeah, no one is going to see that coming from me. So I made that song. I had actually finished the song, I did two verses but I felt something was missing. It just hit me and I was like, ‘I will love to have Tiwa on the song.’

We [our music] don’t generally go in the same direction but I was like, it would be so nice to find that balance and do something that would bring our synergies together. So I sent it to Tiwa and she did her verse and we shot the video together.”
