Why Nigerians should stop berating producer, Adanma Luke – Jide Awobona says

In response to disparaging remarks made about her, Nigerian actor turned director Jide Awobona has defended film producer Adanma Luke.

Danma Luke produced the film that the late Junior Pope Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, was working on when he passed away.

Recall that on Wednesday night, April 11, news of Junior Pope’s untimely death sent Nollywood into yet another round of sadness.

The gifted actor was reported to have perished when he and his colleagues slipped into the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a filming site in a boat. Since then, their bodies have been found.

His death was attributed by many to the absence of a life jacket, divers, and land medical professionals. They chastised Adanma Luke in particular for not having these essentials ready before boarding a boat.

Jide Awobona reacted by saying that it’s now common for performers to film films in hazardous situations. He also said that they are disconnected in the event of a complaint.

Jide Awobona penned:

“It could have been anyone of us, stop dragging this producer, it’s a norm here, when you refuse to do certain things they tag you difficult and call you unprofessional, with the usual line” were you not paid, didn’t you read the script” when you complain too much, they stop calling ????????‍♂️????????‍♂️????????‍♂️????????‍♂️????????‍♂️.”

Before Junior Pope’s death, he posted a video on his Instagram page on Wednesday, while on a boat without a life jacket, begging the captain to go slowly.
