Why I slapped my father on set – Actor, Femi Adebayo

Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo, has made a shocking admission regarding his father, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello).

The seasoned thespian revealed that he instinctively slapped his father by accident while on the set of the movie ‘Taiwo Taiwo’ in 2008.

Speaking in a viral interview, Adebayo disclosed that his character in the film was a notorious armed robber and the slap occurred as a result of reflex.

He said he was directed to break into a rich man’s residence to rob him, a role played by Oga Bello in ‘Taiwo Taiwo’ but when he arrived, his father refused to hand over the money.

According to him, in the heat of the moment, Adebayo subconsciously raised his hand and slapped his dad. Adebayo admitted that the action was not part of the script and expressed regret afterwards.

The movie star, however, tried to defend his actions, stating that he was trying to enhance his portrayal of the character.

Furthermore, he said that he apologised to his father after the incident but interestingly, his Oga Bello praised him, saying that if he hadn’t hit him, he would have gotten in trouble.
