Top female singer, Yemi Alade has explained why she is still relevant after more than a decade in the Nigerian music industry.

The 35-year-old multi award-winning music star, said she loves music to much and the art form has chosen her as a messenger.

According to Yemi Alade, she has spent 14 years in the industry since the release of her debut single, ‘Fimile’ in 2010 featuring Eldee The Don. She further stated that she shares a deep connection with music.

On how she reinvents herself in the industry that is steady churning out new talented artistes, the songstress admitted that the industry is tough but noted that she is still a force today because ‘tough times never last but tough people do.’

In her words; “Officially, I have been in the industry for 14 years, counting from when I released my first song titled, ‘Fimisile’, and featuring Eldee tha Don.”

“I love music. It is actually the one thing that I am gifted at. I am deeply rooted and connected to music. It has chosen me as its messenger.”

Yemi added; “The music industry has always been tough, even before I showed any interest in it. And, it will continue to be tough. However, it is said that ‘tough times never last but tough people do’. I believe that the strongest will always survive.”
