Sensational Afrobeats singer, Ruger has weighed in on the rivalry between leading industry musicians, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Speaking amid an online clash between Wizkid and Davido, the ‘Bounce’ hit maker said the two of them and Burna Boy would need to shun rivalry and collaborate instead.
The record label founder made the suggestion during an episode of British-Nigerian media personality, Madame Joyce’s podcast ‘Cocktails & Takeaways’, emphasing that it will be the ‘greatest thing ever’.
Ruger expressed optimism that the trio’s collaboration and joint world tour would be a defining moment not just for them but for the Afrobeats genre.
He said; “I feel like Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy should do one song and a tour together. They don’t have to do a project. One song and a world tour together. It’s going to be the greatest thing ever. Me and BNXN would be co-writers of the song.”
Also, he talked about his latest song with BNXN (formerly Buju), noting that he decided to collaborate with him instead of continuing their beef.

Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, has revealed why the superstar singer is yet to work with his top counterparts, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid and Damini “Burna Boy” Ogulu.
Asa explained in an interview on the Ventes Rap show that there have been collaborations, but it just wasn’t between the three leading music acts as fans expect.
The talent manager, who avoided giving a direct response, mentioned that Wizkid and Burna Boy had worked on a song while the Omo Baba Olowo had collaborated with the likes of Kizz Daniel, Olamide and Asake.
Asika emphasised that the top artistes in Nigeria might not work with each other as often as people want, but they do so from time to time
The interviewer asked; “How come we don’t see Davido featuring Burna Boy or Wizkid?”
Asika replied; “There have been collaborations, Burna Boy and Wizkid have a song, Davido and Kizz Daniel have a song, Davido and Olamide have a song, Asake is on David’s album.
“So the big artistes in Nigeria work, they might not collaborate as often but they do. Collaboration is one of the major things that have pushed Afrobeats to where it is.”
