A young Nigerian man expresses shock after being served ‘palm oil’ as a complimentary drink at a pepper soup joint to assure their client’s safety.
This came following a homicide case involving a teenager who allegedly poisoned her ex-boyfriend’s pepper soup. Unknown to her, the meal would be consumed not only by him but with his three friends and his current girlfriend.
In a viral video shared by a TikTok user @joy_muller07, he recounted his experience at a pepper soup restaurant, where palm oil is served alongside their meals.
Palm oil is generally believed in Nigeria to have antidote properties against poison and other food-injected contaminations.
Sharing the video, the social media user found it amusing how creative the restaurant got at assuring their client’s safety.
“Omor no be play ohh for where I go buy pepper soup today them give everybody their special oil 😂😂😂😂😂,” he captioned the video.
