American Hip Hop star, Meek Mill has revealed the huge sum of money he makes from every song he records.
He said that for each track he takes $1m dollars to the bank and further broke it down to mean that he earns over $62,500 per sentence.
Meek Mill stated this via his Instagram page on Friday amid controversial statements by some entertainers that rap is “dying”.
He said; “I’m getting a million a song… so that’s $62,500 every bar I speak… They say this rap sh*t dying must be on Billboard because it’s not to Meek!”.
It may be recalled that during an interview with 10 magazine months ago, Wizkid said rap is dead while arguing in favour of Afrobeats dominating.
Meanwhile, in another news…
Nigerian Afropop singer, Abbey Toyyib Elias, popularly known as Skiibii, has revealed that contrary to what some may think, he didn’t beg Davido to feature on his song.
He said it was the DMW boss that slid into his Instagram DM to ask for a chance to jump on the remix of his hit song, Baddest Boy.
Skiibii said: “I don’t call other artistes to do collaboration. It’s not my style. From Olamide, he wanted a collaboration with me. He asked for us to do a song together, and I obliged. The song with Olamide was my first music video to garner one million views on YouTube.
“My collaboration with Reekado Banks was because we were friends. We’ve got to have a relationship between us before we work. I don’t just work with anybody. So, I and Reeky were very close friends. We did ‘Sensima.’ Before that one, we already did a song together titled ‘London.’
“I collaborated with Kizz Daniel too. He is my close friend; everybody knows that. My collaboration with Davido happened after he messaged me on Instagram that he would like to jump on the remix of my song ‘Baddest Boy’.”
