Swedish manager, Janne Andersson has confirmed he is in discussions with the Nigerian football governing body, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the vacant Super Eagles coaching job.
Andersson has been without a job since leaving the Swedish national team last November but the 61-year-old has been linked with the Nigeria management job.
The former Halmstads BK coach said to reporters on Friday, August 23;
“I can confirm that I have had a dialogue with the Nigeria Football Federation,” he told Swedish new outlet Expressen.
“It’s a huge footballing nation so I’m extremely flattered to be in the running to be their next national team coach.
“Dialogue is ongoing and I don’t really want to say more than that.
“I have been in this industry for so long and know that things can happen in different ways. So we’ll see what happen in the future.”
