Stop disrespecting fellow artistes – Skales cautions top musicians

Singer and rapper, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known professionally as Skales, has urged his superstar colleagues to stop disrespecting other artistes.

The ‘As I Wake Up’ crooner made the call via his official Twitter account amid the trend of celebrities shading each other on social media.

Is there nobody to save Nigeria from crashing? - Skales raises concerns

According to Skales, the habit they display was uncalled for and they need to be mindful of the fact that stardom is ephemeral.

He wrote: “Stop disrespecting your fellow artiste especially when you know as e dey go. You fit dey untop today no mean say the same people wey dey ginger you no go forget you tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, in another news…

CorrectNG recalls that Skales once claimed that he is underrated in the music industry despite being “the greatest artiste.”

The popular artiste stated this during a chat on Hip TV programme, Trending, hosted by reality star, KimOprah. He said fans aren’t giving him enough credit and talked about on how he was battling with low self-esteem during the early years of his career.

Skales also argued that he is among the set of Nigerian acts that took Afrobeats to an international level. His statement was a mixture of lamentation and self appraisal as he believes that he is the rave of the moment who is not appreciated enough for his craft.

He said: “I just rediscovered myself from 2020. I’ve been dealing with a lot of low self-esteem. Even while I have all the big songs in the world, I still doubt myself. But now, I’m more confident.

“I believe I’m among the set that started taking afrobeats to the world. I was honoured and opportune to be part of it. I tell myself I’m the greatest artist out there. This is no disrespect to anybody. It’s just my opinion of myself. I believe that I’m the rave of the moment because where I’m right now musically is inspiring.”
