Ralf Rangnick has turned down an offer to become the manager of Bayern Munich.

Ralf Rangnick has declined the opportunity to assume the role of Bayern Munich manager at the conclusion of the season.

Bayern had engaged in discussions with the Austrian coach over the past few weeks, aiming to secure his return to club management as they prepare for Thomas Tuchel’s departure at the end of the campaign.

However, Rangnick has confirmed his decision to remain in his current position for the foreseeable future.

Initially pursuing Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern, along with Liverpool, were left seeking alternative options after Alonso publicly confirmed his decision to stay with the Bundesliga champions.

Subsequently, Bayern turned to Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann, who extended his contract until after the 2026 World Cup.

Despite also targeting Unai Emery, who later signed a new deal with Aston Villa, Rangnick was reportedly the club’s third choice for the managerial position. Bayern now faces a race against time to secure a replacement for Tuchel before the season’s end.
