President Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet, Scraps Two Ministries

President Bola Tinubu has approved a major reshuffle of his ministerial cabinet, merging two ministries and scrapping two others. This decision was made during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday, as disclosed by the president’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.

Onanuga announced that the president has abolished both the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development. In their place, a new Ministry of Regional Development has been created to oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North East Development Commission, North West Development Commission, and South West Development Commission.

Additionally, the National Sports Commission will now assume the responsibilities previously managed by the Ministry of Sports Development.

In another significant move, President Tinubu approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy, aiming to streamline operations in those sectors.
