A video of Nigerian Hip Hop maestro, MI Abaga talking about the whopping sum of money he was offered during the election, has surfaced online.
He claimed during an interview with Pulse that he was asked to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, during one of the previous general elections.
MI Abaga, who appeared to be speaking about the 2019 election, said he amount was 20 times more than what he usually makes, but he turned it down and decided to stick with his principles.
The rapper also said that Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid was wooed with outrageous amount of money but he rejected it and opted to stay neutral in the election.
He said artiste demontrated uncommon character during the electioneering period because people were tired of the government.
MI said; “I was offered 20 times more money to vote for PDP in the finale, in the last few weeks, remember they shifted the election. Sorry I am putting people’s business out there. Someone like Wizkid was offered stvpid money and Wizkid said ‘NO’.
“He said ‘I am not gonna go either side, I’m just gonna stay neutral.’ There was so much character displayed by Nigerian artiste in that election because people were tired of the government that was and they wanted them out.
“And the young people understood that and they stood by that, there’s so much character, so much character that were displayed, that’s the story my brother.”
