Disaster has reportedly been averted as an explosive device was on Wednesday deactivated in Lagos state by the police anti-bomb squad.
The Lagos Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that operatives deactivated an improvised explosive device, IED, in the Ikeja area of the state.
Hundeyin told The Punch on Wednesday, 31st of July that the device was wrapped in a bag and dropped by the roadside. It was gathered that the incident happened around Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) facility in Ikeja.
According to the spokesman, it was dropped along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way by unknown persons using an unregistered vehicle.
