Nottingham Forest’s four-point deduction in the Premier League will stand after their appeal against the penalty for breaching Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR) was unsuccessful.
The deduction, imposed in March, was reduced from a potential six points after Forest cooperated with the Premier League regarding the £34.5 million breach. Despite seeking to appeal the four-point deduction, an independent commission upheld the penalty, leaving Forest embroiled in a relegation battle as the season nears its end.
With only three points above 18th-place Luton Town and five ahead of 19th-place Burnley, Forest’s position in the Premier League remains precarious. However, they have a chance to secure safety this weekend if Luton and Burnley fail to win their respective matches.
