The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and popular club owner, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, have reached an agreement to resolve the naira abuse charge outside of court.
The Nation reports that the out-of-court settlement was disclosed when the proceedings resumed on Thursday, 2nd of May 2024.
Cubana Chief Priest was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts bordering on abuse of naira, spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
After the EFCC filed a three-count charge against the celebrity barman over alleged naira abuse and arraigned him at the Federal High court in Lagos, he pleaded not guilty.
Justice Ogundare, thereafter granted him bail in the sum of N10 million with two responsible sureties in like sum. The judge ruled that the bail conditions must be perfected within seven days.

The socialite revealed that when he was arrested, operatives of the anti-graft agency don’t manhandle suspects in custody. He claimed that the agency only investigate and prosecute.
Furthermore, Chief Priest warned that the commission would always catch those who run away from invites or resist arrest regardless of where they hide.
He stated this via his Instagram page as he praised the hospitality of the agency, one of which included serving him three-square meals in their cell.
Cubana Chief Priest wrote: “The Eagle will always fly so high to catch you wherever you hide. No need to run when @officialefcc invites you, just pull up and answer them, they don’t bite, they don’t beat, they only investigate and prosecute. For their cell, toilet & bathroom dey, even breakfast, lunch & dinner is served so tell me why are you running.”
