Naira abuse: Davido reacts as court grants Cubana Chief Priest N10m bail

Afrobeats superstar, Davido has rejoiced over the report that his friend, Cubana Chief Priest was granted N10 million bail after he pleaded not guilty to alleged naira abuse.

A Federal High Court in Lagos state, on Wednesday granted the club owner and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, bail with two sureties in like sum.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) earlier detained and arraigned him on a three-count charge of allegedly spraying and tampering with the naira at social events.

The socialite pleaded not guilty to tampering and abusing the naira during his trial. He was alleged to have sprayed the naira on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel.

But during his arraignment on Wednesday, April 17, Justice Kehinde Ogundare approved the bail application.

Shortly after his release, Chief Priest took to his official Instagram page to celebrate and thank his friends and fans for their concerns.

The celebrity barman as he is fondly called noted that he was humbled by the trial while adding that it has confirmed that he isn’t “small.”

Reacting via the comment section, Davido said it was not possible for Cubana Chief Priest to be jailed, stressing that he could not bear not seeing him for six months.

The Omo Baba Olowo wrote; “I no go see u for 6 months ke… Never.”

It may be recalled that last week the Federal High Court jailed popular crossdresser, Idris “Bobrisky” Okuneye for six months for abusing the naira.
