Liverpool returned to winning form and dashed Tottenham’s Champions League aspirations with a resounding 4-2 victory at Anfield.
The Reds surged ahead with goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott, establishing a commanding 4-0 lead that seemed to set them on course for a comfortable win.
However, Tottenham mounted a late comeback, finding the net twice in quick succession through Richarlison and Son Heung-min, ensuring a tense finale for the hosts.
Liverpool continued their dominance into the second half, extending their lead to 3-0 as Gakpo converted Elliott’s delivery. Elliott then added his name to the scoresheet with a spectacular curling effort.
Despite Liverpool’s commanding lead, a defensive lapse allowed Richarlison to score for Tottenham. Son Heung-min further reduced the deficit with a well-taken goal.
However, Liverpool held on to secure the victory and thwart any hopes of a Tottenham comeback.
