The Kaduna University has issued a directive that parents and guardians of all new and returning students must sign an agreement that their children will behave well in the school.

On Tuesday, the directive was given by the Registrar, Mr Samuel Manshop in a statement in Kaduna. The statement reads;

“The Management of Kaduna State University wishes to notify staff, students and the public that academic activities for the 2020/2021 Academic Session have commenced with effect from Tuesday.

“Furthermore, the parents and guardians of all fresh and returning students are expected to sign an undertaking at the respective departments of their children and wards.

“The undertaking shall indicate that the children will be of good behavior,”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the university suspended academic activity for its undergraduate students indefinitely on June 8.

The registrar, who did not provide reasons for the suspension, did state that academic activities for postgraduate programs, the college of medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, and part-time programs would continue.

In other news, a Zambian TV news presenter named Kabinda Kalimina has set social media abuzz after he went off script and called for the payment of his salary and that of his colleagues during a live news broadcast.

The incident happened last weekend, sources claim. Kalimina who is a staff of the KBN TV gave a roundup of the top stories during the live broadcast and followed it with the airing of his plight.

He said;

“Away from the news, ladies and gentlemen, we are human beings. We have to get paid. Unfortunately, on KBN we haven’t been paid. People are getting instruments on KBN…Sharon and everyone else haven’t been paid, including myself . We have to get paid.”
