Jangebe Girls Abductors Were Offered Money Not To Free Them – Gov Matawalle Says

On Tuesday, Governor Matawalle of Zamfara state disclosed that the kidnappers of the Jangebe girls were offered money by unknown persons not to release them while the state was in talks with abductors.

He made this disclosure while speaking to the Jangebe girls on Tuesday. Recall that the Governor said that it was be a big surprise to Nigerians to learn about the masterminds behind the abduction of the schools. According to him, he will give insights about the abduction very soon.

He added that the DSS, army and other appropriate security agencies have been a discrete investigation into the incident. He said;

“I didn’t sleep for four days. We worked hard for days to ensure the safe return of the girls to their families. We are using kinetic and non-kinetic approaches, and the non-kinetic is working for us. If not, we wouldn’t have successfully negotiated the release of these girls, ”
