Iyanya, a popular Nigerian singer from Cross River State, has taken to social media to urge his Calabar fans to return singer Mayorkun’s stolen diamond chain, promising to compensate the person who returns it.
Mayorkun, a popular Nigerian singer, has been one of the trending topics on social media after revealing that he may never perform again in Calabar following his explosive show in the Cross River State capital.
Mayorkun was at the Calabar festival when the mob rushed at him in their excitement and ended up forcefully removing the diamond neck chain.
According to reports, the Mayorkun diamond chain is reportedly worth millions of dollars.
Mayorkun who is sad by the development wrote; “Calabar, you will probably never ever see me again, goodluck to the other artistes coming for your festivals tho.”
In response, singer Iyanya, via his verified page on X, expresses his utmost displeasure at his people, referring to their actions toward Mayorkun as “bad.”
Iyanya, on the other hand, urged his people to return the singer’s diamond neck chain, saying he would compensate anyone who did so.
Begging them to return it, Iyanya wrote; “My calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be. The government has brought my colleagues to entertain you, all you owe them is protection and great hospitality. If you know anyone who stole from my brother , please return it and I will personally compensate you. Drop it at THE GRAND HOTEL ???? I will personally compensate you PLEASE.”
