This comes after she was recognized by an international platform that named her as one of the Top 100 icons amongst the world’s greatest icon and living legends. After the list was released, the international platform CNN used its medium to congratulate Funke and also described her as one of the biggest Hollywood stars. Funke Akindele was ranked the thirty-fifth on the Top 100 icons ranked.

The movie that took her to a high level and gained international recognition was her popular movie Omo Ghetto Saga. The movie, Omo Ghetto which featured big stars like Chioma Chukwuka Apotha, Eniola Badmus, and many other talented acts crossed N500 million mark at the box office. Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) reported that the movie has broken Nollywood’s movie records.
