I wish you well, Tinubu accepts Ajuri Ngelale’s exit

President Bola Tinubu has approved the request of his chief spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, to go on an indefinite leave of absence. Ngelale announced on Saturday morning that he would be taking time off from his duties to address medical issues “presently affecting my immediate, nuclear family.”

He stated that he had informed Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, about his decision.

Later that night, the Presidency issued a statement confirming that President Tinubu had received Ngelale’s memo and wished him well.

“The President has received the memo from Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of the President as well as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, informing of his decision to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence for personal and health reasons,” the statement read.

President Tinubu expressed his understanding and sympathy for Ngelale’s circumstances, extending his prayers and best wishes to him and his family. He also hoped for a speedy recovery and full restoration of health.

The President acknowledged Ngelale’s tireless efforts and dedication in serving the nation, particularly in advancing national discourse and leading climate action initiatives. He thanked him for his remarkable contributions in various capacities and wished him well in his future endeavours.

The statement concluded with a request for privacy for Ngelale and his family during this challenging time.
