Popular Nigerian singer, John Saviours Udomboso, better known as Young Jonn, has said he became an artiste by accident.
The ‘Bahamas’ crooner made the statement when having a chat with Revolt, while attributing his current status as an artiste as “life happening” because he never planned on becoming one.
“I never really planned to be an artiste but life played out,” the 29-year-old producer turned musician said.
On his transition from producer to artiste, John said; “It was a learning process. It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind and business. It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it.”

CorrectNG recalls that Young John once opened up about how the death of his mother in 2017 inspired him to make the switch from being a producer to becoming a singer.
Young John said he was devastated by the loss, so the frequency with which he was in the studio producing for artistes reduced and he started spending much time by himself.
The ‘Aquafina’ hit-maker discloed that he had a lot of music that were not released or used because he recorded a lot, so he decided to start releasing them.
He said; “What really triggered that was back in 2017 when I lost my mum. I started spending so much time by myself. I was not turning up for my studio sessions or being in the studio with artistes, like I used to. So, I had so much music lying around, because I was recording so much. That period made me to start putting out music, because I never really planned to do that.
“However, it feels so good and amazing. I feel blessed, regardless of what the outcome is. I never saw this coming, and I did not plan for it. I am releasing my debut album now, and it feels so surreal. The love has been craazy, since I started putting out music. A lot has happened in my life, and I feel so blessed, regardless of what anyone thinks.”
