Darlington Okoye popularly known as Speed Darlington has declared himself the number one musician in West Africa.
The ‘Bangdadadang’ crooner made this claim when he appeared as a guest on an episode of the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ hosted by Bae U.
Akpi as he is fondly called by fans also said he is currently the most trending musician in the subregion.
“I am the number one musician/celebrity in West Africa. No one is hotter than me,” Speed Darlington boasted.
Meanwhile, the US-based rapper warned fans to stop comparing him and Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Balogun otherwise known as Wizkid.
The internet personality stated that a lot of fans have been comparing them, saying he is better than the ‘Joro’ boss, but he does not like it.
Speaking during an Instagram live session, Speed Darlington expressed strong displeasure over the comparison because they do not correlate.
According to Akpi, he is approaching 8 years in the music industry and he and Wizkid have never met, even though the singer once acknowledged him in New York.
Darlington also recalled a time that the Grammy winner allegedly promoted his song by posting it on social media.
He fumed: “Why are people telling me that I am better than Wizkid? How do I and Wizkid correlate? Do you know how many years I’ve been in this industry? Seven years.
Next year, May 17 or 16, I will be 8 years in the industry and I’ve never met Wizkid. Although he has previously acknowledged me in New York. He posted one of my songs. Please, stop the comparison.”
