A video of an interview showing the moment South African businessman and brother of Elon Musk, Kimbal Musk revealed that they were both illegal immigrants resurfaced on the internet sparking concerns about the fate of Elon Musk’s citizenship in the United States.
This is coming after Donald Trump, a strong ally and close associate of Elon Musk was declared the winner of the US 2024 presidential election.
Investors King reported that the Republican candidate won the election after defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who had hoped to make history as the first female president.
According to election results, Trump amassed more than the required 270 electoral votes to secure the presidency and also defeated Harris in key states across the nation.
However, despite his close ties with Trump, Elon Musk could have his US citizenship revoked and may be deported if he lied on immigration forms.
Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, was born and raised in South Africa by his father Errol Musk and mother Maye Musk.
He moved to Canada but later settled and became a citizen of the United States.
There are suspicions that Elon Musk may have worked in the United States illegally.
His brother, Kimbal, in the resurfaced video, said that they were illegal immigrants.
It was reported that Musk in 1995, while in Palo Alto, California on a student visa never enrolled in courses.
The report reads, “Musk arrived in Palo Alto, California in 1995 for a graduate program at Stanford University but never enrolled in courses, working instead on his startup.”
“If he lied to the government as part of the immigration process, Musk could be exposed to criminal prosecution”, legal expert said adding that the US government could even deport him.
The expert emphasized that Musk would have had no right to work with a student visa saying, “Someone present in the U.S. on a student visa who didn’t enroll in courses would have had no right to work at the time and would have had to leave the country.”
It was also reported that after Trumps’ victory at the poll, many people via the official website of the Whitehouse have issued petitions that Elon Musk’s U.S. citizenship should be revoked and he should be deported before Trump takes office January 20, 2025.
