A yet-to-be-identified operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has committed suicide at his residence in Abuja. The operative, a member of Course 5, took his life on Monday. He was described as diligent, efficient, and unassuming.
The incident was confirmed by EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale to PRNigeria. He added that an investigation is ongoing to determine why the operative decided to take his life.
However, sources within the Commission told PM NEWS that the operative had been having problems with his immediate boss, a woman, for some time. It is not certain if this issue was responsible for his decision to end his life. The anti-graft agency has not released the name of the operative as the investigation is still ongoing.
