Seasoned music producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, has revealed that he once tried to sell Mo’Hits records, for N1million.
The Mavin Records Chief Executive Officer said he attempted to sell the label which he co-founded with superstar singer, D’banj to music executive Obi Asika in the early days of its existence.
Don Jazzy made this known when he was questioned on an episode of Black Box interview, explaining that the attempt was unsuccessful.
According to him, D’banj’s release of the the hit song “Tongolo” brought him limelight but fell short of the anticipated financial gain, and thus this prompted the desire to sell of Mo’Hits.
Although he didn’t provide details for why the transaction fell through, he said the sequence of events turned out to be a lucky break for the label which produced stars like D’Banj, Tiwa and Wande Coal.
