A Kano State High Court has ordered the deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, to stop parading himself as an Emir.
The court presided over by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, gave the order on Monday, and also directed the police commissioner to evict him from the mini-palace on State Road.
Similarly, the order restrained Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, Ibrahim Abubakar II, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya from parading themselves as emirs of Bichi, Gaya, Rano and Karaye respectively.
This comes on the heels of Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf presenting the letter of reinstatement to 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
In a ceremony at the state government house on Friday, the governor presented the letter to Sanusi while urging him to continue the good job he was doing for the good of Kano people.
Yusuf said; “We return Sanusi out of conviction that he was victimized in 2019. We also return him as the rightful Emir of Kano, to continue the good job he was doing for the good of Kano People.”
Commenting on the legislative process that led to Sanusi’s reinstatement, the governor insisted; “Once a Bill is signed into law, it has become law and nobody can change that.
“Your reappointment was guided by the collective belief and judgement of your competency, dedication and zeal for the development of Kano State and it’s environs.
“As you ascend the throne of the Kano Emirate of Kano State, you should be guided in your conducts by the teachings of Islam which you are known for”.
