Finally, the Anambra State governorship election has come to an end.

At the end of the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Prof Chukwuma Soludo as governor-elect of Anambra State.

This declaration was made by the Returning Officer of the election, Professor Florence Obi at exactly 1;50 am on Wednesday morning.

During the declaration, she indicated that Soludo had the highest number of votes cast

She said Soludo got a total of 112,229 votes and his closest competitors were Mr. Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In her declaration, she said;

“I, Prof Florence Obi, hereby certify that I am the returning officer of the Anambra state governorship election conducted on 6th and 9th of November 2021; that the election was held and Prof Charles Soludo having certified the requirement is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
