Nigerian superstar singer, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy, has generated a buzz on social media with his decision to relinquish his ‘African Giant’ title.
During an exchange with Nigerians on social media, the Grammy winner handed over the title to his colleague, Falz after being dragged for distancing himself from the protest against bad governance and hardship.
The Afrobeats singer had quoted a tweet of his from 2020 where he likened himself to Jesus who was crucified despite standing up for his people just as he [Burna] did during the endsars protest.
Burna Boy tweeted; “The fight in me Died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around.”
A tweep who felt disappointed said the artiste made that comment because he wanted to abandon his people yet he will be calling himself “African Giant.”
@jr_barryy stated: “Because you wan ghost and you de call yourself African giant” to which the “Last Last” crooner swiftly replied: “I don hand am over to Falz bros.”
