BREAKING: Borno Government Lifts Restriction On Curfew As #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria Protests Enter Day 2—-The Borno state government has reviewed the ongoing curfew in the state.

The government had earlier imposed curfew to prevent infiltration of Boko Haram/ISWAP elements following credible intelligence sources and an IED attack on Kawuri village Wednesday and parts of Maiduguri on Thursday that claimed several lives with many injured.

Meanwhile, the Borno Security Council on Friday lifted the restriction from 12: pm to 3:00 pm, adding that the curfew will continue from 3:00 p.m. on Friday to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, after which people are expected to go about their normal business.

According to a statement released on Friday August 2, 2024 by the security council, the review indicates that the three-hour window is to allow the Muslim faithful to observe Friday prayers.

The statement also urged the general public to observe their Juma’at prayers within their communities as the government closely monitors the situation.
