BISHOPS DAVID ABIOYE AND THOMAS AREMU EMBARK ON A GLORIOUS RETIREMENT FROM SERVICE AT LIVING FAITH CHURCH AFTER OVER 40 AND 30 YEARS, RESPECTIVELY

Bishop David Olatunji Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu, Vice Presidents of Living Faith Church, are set to retire from their roles within the Liberation Commission, also known as Living Faith Church Worldwide, in October 2024. This decision aligns with the guidelines established in the Mandate, the church’s constitutional framework.

A recent announcement revealed that Bishop Thomas Aremu’s farewell service is scheduled to take place at LFC Basorun in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Additionally, sources from Church Gist indicate that Bishop David Abioye’s farewell service will occur in Durumi, Abuja, on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Bishop Abioye, who first crossed paths with Bishop Oyedepo in 1979 and has served as his trusted aide ever since, was appointed to lead one of the five inaugural branches in 1987. He was consecrated in 1993 at the Garden of Faith in Barnawa, Kaduna, becoming the youngest Bishop of a fully established church in recorded history at the age of 32.

Conversely, Bishop Aremu transitioned to full-time ministry after a successful career as an accountant in various organizations. He remains the sole survivor among the seven Bishops consecrated in November 1999 at the Garden of Faith, Kaduna.

This momentous occasion marks a historic first for the Living Faith Church, as it will publicly honor pastors who have served diligently upon their retirement.

According to the updated Mandate, the retirement age has been revised from 60 to 58. Bishop Abioye is currently 63, while Bishop Aremu is 67. The Founder will retain the unique privilege of a lifetime of service, while all subsequent leaders of the Commission will serve a maximum of one or two terms, each lasting seven years, contingent upon Board of Trustees approval. This transition signifies a new era in the evolution of this vibrant Church, which has been in existence for less than five decades.
