Multi award-winning singer Akon has finally chosen a side in the never-ending comparison of Nigerian superstar singers, Ayodeji “Wizkid” Balogun and David Adeleke aka Davido.
While having a chat with a content creator identified as Issraissry, the ‘Locked Up’ hit-maker was asked to choose between Machala and the Omo Baba Olowo.
Akon explained that he would get in trouble for his response, but he picked Davido because the ‘Unavailable’ crooner is the ‘ultimate shouter.’
The Senegalese-American said; “I get in trouble for mentioning anything about Davido. I’m gonna go with Davido. He’s the ultimate shouter”.
Meanwhile, it may be recalled that Akon once revealed that he tried to sign the duo to his record label, Konvict Music, years ago.

CorrectNG recalls that Aliaune Akon Thiam professionally known as Akon earlier expressed regrets for not signing Nigerian indigenous rapper, Olamide to his record label.
The Konvict Muzik founder said he wished he had signed the YBNL boss some years ago before he became a superstar and music executive.
According to Akon, the ”Melo Melo” crooner was his favourite artiste back then and he told him that the first time they met.
Akon said; “I would probably say the one person in Nigeria that I wish I had signed is Olamide. Honestly, I wish I had signed Olamide because he would have signed a lot of new artists anyway.
“Olamide was my favourite artist before he reinvented himself as a music executive. The first time we met, I told him he was my favourite artist”.

Mavin Records CEO, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why he didn’t sign music heavyweights, Wizkid and Davido, when they were still up-and-coming.
The music executive said he couldn’t sign Ayodeji Balogun also known as Wizkid to his now-defunct record label, Mo’hits, because EME boss, Banky W got to the Starboy before him.
Don Jazzy stated this while having a chat on the Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo, adding that he had the opportunity to sign Davido but didn’t because he figured out that the FEM crooner would succeed without a record label’s support.
The ace music producer also regretted not signing sonorous songstresses, Simisolo Kosoko aka Simi and Teniola Apata also known as Temi. Don Baba J said he almost signed rapper, Falz to his label, but the deal broke down.
He said; “I like Simi, I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I like Teni, but I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I had the opportunity of signing Davido but I didn’t because I kind of figured that he would be fine.
Wizkid, obviously, I couldn’t because Banky W got to him first. That would have been amazing. Falz, I love his work. We almost had a deal.”
