US-based Nigerian actor, Alesh Sanni has expressed disappointment with entertainers in Nigeria for allegedly abandoning famous crossdresser, Bobrisky after his imprisonment.
Last Friday, April 12, a Federal High Court in Lagos state sentenced Bobrisky to six months in jail with no option of fine for Naira abuse.
Expressing sympathy, Alesh stated that nobody should be made to stay a single day in prison, and he does not know why celebrities who often invite the crossdresser for parties and events have suddenly pretend not to know him.
The actor, in a post on his Instagram page reminded his colleagues that the ordeal being experienced by Bobrisky due his lifestyle, which they conveniently act like is not a big deal, is something that can happen to anyone.
He wrote; “Prison is not where someone should stay for even a day.. I don’t know why humans are hypocritical, so we call Bobrisky for parties, to promote movies, songs grace our events, and even boost our businesses with his platform because of the lifestyle he has chosen and all, which we didn’t see as a problem or a big deal…
Now for what so ever reason he’s been arrested and jailed yet we all pretend as if he has never been a part of our lives, Why are people this evil? especially celebrities.. remember this can happen to anyone.”
Sanni captioned; “My prayers are with you Idris Okuneye ……. #yalateef”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had arraigned Bobrisky on four counts of naira abuse and money laundering.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro earlier dismissed the money laundering charges but convicted Bobrisky for Naira Abuse after he confessed to the crime.
Awogboro held that the judgement will serve as a deterrence to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the Nigerian currency.
The Judge, however, ordered that the jail term commences on March 24, 2024, the day of Bobrisky’s arrest by the anti-graft agency.
