A Nigerian man has shared his shocking experience online after discovering that his fiancée, whom he met on Facebook, claimed to be single when he posed as someone else using a fake account.
The revelation came in a lengthy post he shared on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, through an anonymous account.
In ..., he explained that he met the woman earlier this year on Facebook.
They became close, started dating, and agreed to take things slowly. She even claimed to be a virgin, but he later discovered this was untrue after they became intimate.
According to him, their relationship seemed serious—she had met his family at his sister’s wedding, and he was preparing to meet her parents to formalize the relationship.
However, before taking the next step, he created a secret Facebook account based in the UK to test her loyalty. Posing as another man, he initiated a conversation with her.
To his dismay, she said she was single and revealed that she had dated three men, losing her virginity to the second.
In his post, he wrote:
“I started dating this girl earlier this year. We met on Facebook, and I decided to take things slow with her. I made it clear that I was serious about the relationship.”
“I stopped talking to other girls and focused on her. During the talking stage, I asked if she was a virgin, and she said yes. But after we became intimate, I realized she wasn’t telling the truth. She tried to convince me that her tightness was proof of virginity, but there was no blood, and her story didn’t add up.”
“I decided to move past it and helped her through school until she graduated from a polytechnic in Ilorin. We’ve been together for eight months now, and she has already met my family. I was planning to meet hers soon.”
“Today, I created a fake Facebook account pretending to be a guy from the UK to test her. I wanted to be sure she was trustworthy before taking the next step, especially since I recently came into some money—about ₦16 million from a bet. “
