This follows the recent success of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) airstrikes, which neutralized several high-ranking bandits, including loyalists of notorious criminal leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule.
In a statement on Monday, the
Coordinator of the group Abdulrashid Ibrahim danja katsina, described the operation as a significant milestone in the ongoing campaign to restore peace to Zamfara and the North-West region.
He credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the comprehensive strategy, which included ordering Dr. Matawalle and military chiefs to relocate to Sokoto State.
“This move underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens across the region,” Mansur said.
Under Matawalle’s leadership, the military has achieved notable successes, including the elimination of key bandit leaders such as Alhaji Halilu. These achievements have brought renewed hope to communities long plagued by violence.
During a recent visit to Sokoto State, Matawalle directed troops to capture notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, dead or alive. Residents expressed optimism that Turji’s capture is imminent, further boosting the morale of security personnel and affected communities.
The group also extended their appreciation to President Tinubu for his decisive leadership in tackling insecurity.
The deployment of Matawalle to the region, they said, demonstrates the administration’s resolve to protect lives and property.
The Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies were also commended for their professionalism and dedication. Mansur lauded their relentless efforts, saying they have been instrumental in achieving the recent successes against banditry.
The region remain hopeful that continued operations will lead to the complete eradication of banditry in the region and the restoration of lasting peace.
