A young Nigerian lady shares a remarkable encounter with a quick-thinking 10-year-old mechanic who rescued her in an unexpected situation.
Identified as @TheQueenAminat on X (formerly Twitter), she narrated a mishap while on a journey that also left her stranded.
According to her post, she was on her way to Ifo, Ogun State, and had planned to drive part of the way and take a keke for the rest.
She parked her car near a bank in Sango, only to realize she’d locked herself out with the engine running, and her bag and phone were still inside. Stranded at 6:46 a.m. with no mechanic nearby, she asked a young girl if she knew anyone who could help.
To her surprise, the girl returned with a boy around 10 or 11 years old who claimed to be a mechanic.
How a 10-year-old mechanic saved me
“Oh boy! Something unusual happened to me this morning. I was heading to ifo, so I decided drive half way and keke the rest of my journey.
I parked in front of one of the banks at sango, came down to talk to security and boom I had locked myself out with engine running 😭😭, my phones and bag was locked in. It was 6.46am, where will I see mechanic or panel this early morning?
I approached a young girl if she knew any mechanic and she said yes, in less than 10 minutes, she came with a boy of her age range about 10/11 years old. He said he’s a mechanic, I explained my predicament to him and he said he was coming back.
In less than a minute, he was back, brought out a key from his pocket and unlocked my car. I was shocked! Well, I thought he would get a tiny long steel to unlock.
Remember I have a journey ahead, fear gripped me because my car is unsafe in that area. I sha begged the bank security to help me watch over my car.
I am able to do this shalaye because I got back to sango and met my car safe and sound. Lagos way!
I am home now, Alhamdullilah”
