The Kaduna State Police Command successfully rescued two individuals who had been kidnapped, recovered 203 suspected stolen livestock, and apprehended five individuals believed to be involved in rustling activities.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed these developments.
Hassan reported, “On October 31, acting on reliable intelligence, Superintendent of Police Sani Zuntu, who oversees the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, led a team of operatives to a secluded area in Gora Village. The team successfully detained five suspects and seized 283 cattle and 20 sheep that were suspected to have been rustled.”
The identified suspects include Danjuma Alhaji Nguna, Saleh Shehu, Isiya Abdullahi, Abubakar Isiya, and Aminu Abdullahi, also known as “Kano.”
He stated that all suspects would face legal charges following the completion of preliminary investigations.
Hassan further disclosed that on the same day, at approximately 5:00 PM, the Ikara Division received intelligence regarding suspicious activities linked to bandits in a remote location near Kauyen Magaji Auchan village.
In response, a patrol team from the Ikara Division was dispatched to the area, where they engaged in a gunfight with the bandits, compelling them to flee into the surrounding bush.
As a result of this operation, two individuals, Ibrahim Abdullahi and Hafsat Yusuf, were rescued. The victims were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for comprehensive medical evaluations before being reunited with their families.
The spokesperson also conveyed the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Abdullahi’s commitment to combating the ongoing issues of cattle rustling and banditry in the state, praising the officers for their swift response to the intelligence received.
