An X user based in the UK, @teguando1 sparked a conversation about generosity and social connections across borders after sharing an intriguing test.
In his viral post, he compared the responses he received from people in the UK and Nigeria when he asked for a small financial contribution.
“I called 30 people in the UK to send £2 to my account. I want to use it to complete my mortgage payment that was short by £2. Only 18 people responded. I called 30 people to send me N10 in Nigeria for the same reason, and all 30 responded. Some sent N15 to N30k. What does that tell you about Nigeria?” he wrote in ....

I told my friend in Uk, I was sick and needed some funds, he sent 120, then my friend in Naija sent 10. Same friend in naija, I sent a message say hunger wan kee me, he said billing msg in his DM too many o!”
Another user @tosky_elnino added, “How’s £2 and N10 in the same sentence? The people that sent you 30k from Nigeria sent it because they could afford it. In the abroad, nobody really send you like that, and most are living with the “I’m here to hustle” mindset because they have bills to pay. Every penny matters.”
