Senator Gbenga Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State and Senator representing the Ogun East Senatorial District, has described the passage of the matriarch of the illustrious Yar’Adua family, Hajia Dada Musa Yar’Adua, as a monumental loss to the Nigerian nation.
Senator Daniel, who also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Navy, highlighted in his condolence message, the extraordinary life of Hajia Yar’Adua, noting that she was a beacon of motherhood whose influence extended far beyond her immediate family. “Hajia’s life was clearly defined in motherhood, a clear testament to her strong will and resilience, which was evident in the lives of her children, including the late former President Umar Musa Yar’Adua,” he remarked.
Hajia Yar’Adua, according to Senator Daniel, was not only a mother but a mentor who instilled values of integrity, courage, and service in her children, many of whom went on to become significant figures in Nigeria’s political landscape. “We can mourn this exceptional woman only as a champion and symbol of what parenting could be. Her strength of courage and physical uprightness is demonstrated in her long years, living up to the very ripe old age of 102 years against all odds,” he added.
The Senator emphasized that her life was a testament to the power of resilience and faith, as she navigated the challenges of life with grace and fortitude. Her remarkable longevity, living to the age of 102, is seen as a reflection of her inner strength and unwavering faith.
Senator Daniel also extended his condolences to the Governor and people of Katsina State, where the Yar’Adua family hails from, as well as to the entire Yar’Adua family, who have lost a beloved mother and matriarch. “My sincere condolences to the Governor and good people of Katsina State, members of the Yar’Adua family over this painful but inevitable passage. I pray that Almighty Allah grants them the strength to bear the painful exit,” he said.
