Headies Awards has just announced entries for 2024 edition.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that the prolific Nigerian award is about to host its 17th edition, and entries have started.
Organizers of Nigeria’s popular award show, the Headies, have made an announcement calling for entries for its 2024 edition, marking its 17th year running.
The Headies called on eligible parties to submit content that could be considered for the coveted award. For the 17th edition, the year in review starts from April 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024; hence, only musical content released within this time will be eligible for nominations. Artists, producers, and other music industry professionals have been invited to submit their works for consideration in what promises to be another spectacular celebration of the African music industry.
The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize and honor outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry across various genres and categories, shining a spotlight on both established and emerging acts.
Just like previous editions, the call for entries expects various submissions across different categories like Next Rated (which comes with a car gift), Rookie of the Year, Recording of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and many more. The eligibility period for submissions includes works released between April 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024, ensuring that the most recent and impactful contributions to the music scene are considered. Over the years, the Headies Awards have propelled Nigerian international stars like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Sean Tizzle, Kizz Daniel, Rema, Mr Eazi, Mayorkun and many more.
Making the announcement on Monday, August 26, 2024, the organizers stated that submissions will be accepted through the official Headies Awards website, with a deadline window of Friday, September 20, 2024.
