Don’t destroy properties while protesting – Blackface cautions youths

Dancehall singer, Augustine Ahmedu Obiabo alias Blackface, has urged Nigerian youths participating in the ongoing nationwide protest to conduct themselves peacefully.

The ‘Say You Believe Me’ crooner said the protest is justified because Nigerians are suffering, but also cautioned against violence.

Blackface who took to his social media page to issue the advice, urged the protesters against destroying or vandalising properties.

He also emphasisded the need for people taking to the streets to be conscious of their safety because their lives are important.

The ‘Hard Life’ crooner wrote: “My people, I know things are rough and tough and yes, we deserve better from our politicians in power enriching themselves while we, the people, have very little to get by! As we protest, please stay safe, as your life is important, and don’t go destroying people’s properties.”

Nigeran musician, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, has announced ...ponement of the release of the video of her hit song, ‘Burning’.

The track is off her debut album ‘Born In The Wild’ which had been scheduled to drop on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Tems disclosed in a post on his Twitter page that she decided she made the decision to postpone the music video in respect of the ongoing nationwide protest.

The Oscar-nominated wrote: “Out of respect for the on going protest at home [Nigerian flag emoji], I have decided to postpone the release of ‘Burning’ music video. Praying for the safety of those outside at this time. May the voice of the people be heard.”
