Content creator, Shank Comics has reacted to the recent demonstrations by those allegedly hired to oppose the planned nationwide protests in Nigeria.
A series of videos and photos were shared via Twitter, on Monday, July 29 showing people in Lagos state protesting against the protest that is meant to begin August 1.
The could be seen carrying banners and placards and it was reported that some public officials hired them to hit the streets.
Reacting, to the development, a disappointed Shank Comic expressed his dismay and described it as weaponization of poverty in modern age.
The online comedian hinted that the idea of people accepting money to protest against their self interest because of poverty is the reason leaders do not want the country to progress.
He wrote; “Nahh! This is fuxxed up. We are watching poverty being weaponized in modern age. That’s why they won’t let the country work. If it works, they lose their hold on us.”
