The government of Zamfara says the state has not yet received the 20 trucks of rice recently approved and allocated by the Nigerian Government.
This was disclosed by the Governor Dauda Lawal’s Director General, Media and Communication, Comrade Nuhu Salisu Anka, in an interview with newsmen in Gusau on Saturday.
He said despite the Federal Government earlier announcement that the trucks have been dispatched to various state governments, Zamfara is yet to get any consignment.
“Zamfara State is yet to receive its allocation of 20 trucks of rice, which was approved by the Federal Government,” Anka said.
He, however, said he will give an update and ensure that journalists are notified about the arrival of the allocation to Zamfara State the moment the consignments arrive.

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has denied proposing to pay a minimum wage of N80,000 to workers in the state and local government areas.
This is coming amid reports that Fubara pledged to increase the N70,000 new minimum wage which Federal Government and Organised Labour agreed upon.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi on Friday, July 19, clarified that the governor never made said comments and as such it should be regarded as ‘fake news.’
The state government urged the public, and civil servants in Rivers to disregard any such claims or reports from online media platforms.
The statement reads; “The attention of the Rivers State Government has been drawn to claims circulating in an online media that the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara,, has proposed to pay a new minimum wage of N80,000 for civil servants in the state and local government areas.
“Ordinarily, we would not have responded to this fake news, but for the wrong impression it would create in the minds of the public, especially civil servants in the state.
“Therefore, it is important to state that the unverified claims being circulated by Newsweekng.com, and titled: ‘Breaking News: Governor Fubara Proposes N80,000 minimum wage’ are totally false and misleading.
“The general public, and particularly civil servants in the state, are advised to discountenance the false claims in the online media platform. The Rivers State Government will make its position on the issue known in due course.”
