Zamfara APC crisis: Jajiyya faction blames Danfulani over incompetency

The Jajiyya faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Zamfara has attributed the disunity in the party in the state to lack of competent leadership under Tukur Danfulani.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that members of the Jajiyya APC movement in the state were loyalists of Rep. Aminu Jaji representating Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji Federal Constituency.

The lingering crisis in the State APC chapter resulted in the creation of two factions led by aggrieved APC members under Sen. Kabiru Marafa and Rep. Aminu Jaji.

The State Secretary of the Jaji’s faction, Mansur Khalifa-Kaura, in a statement issued in Gusau on Sunday alleged that the party’s leadership in the state under Danfulani has been suffering from lack of transparency and accountability.

This, he alleged, has led to disunity among the party stakeholders and members, saying, ” considering the challenges of the party more trouble awaits for the party in the state ahead of the 2027 General Elections.’

Khalifa-Kaura further alleged that the Danfulani’s APC leadership in the state  was characterised by political arrogance, lack of seriousness and monetary factor.

“The challenges of the party clearly demonstrate that more troubles await the party in 2027 and even beyond.

“The party leadership at the national level should either wade into the crisis or allow  selfish politicians to destroy the party.

“I believe members of the general public who were familiar with the crisis within the Zamfara APC since 2018, will agree  that the party has lost its solid ground as a result of selfish political interest,” Khalifa-Kaura explained.

Reacting to the allegations, the State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf

Idris said the state party leadership under Danfulani has remained intact and peaceful, enjoying the goodwill of its leaders and the good people of the state.

“We noticed last Wednesday that some aggrieved members of the party led by the Zonal Vice Chairman (Zamfara West) Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka and four other officials out of the 36 executive members of the party were appointed as the leaders of other factions.

“The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle as the party leader in the state has been committed to ensuring unity, peace and stability in the party,

“Some critical stakeholders especially the three former Governors of the state, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, Sen. Ahmed Sani-Yarima and Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu-Shinkafi, among others, would not allow agents of destruction to destroy it,” he said.

Idris said that the party leadership in the state was also aware of the actions and activities of the so-called factions of mischief makers to achieve their selfish interests.

“President, Bola Tinibu and the National Secretariat of our great party are aware of  some selfish politicians who contributed to the failure of the party in the 2019 and 2023 elections in the state.

“As they plan to hatch another bad one ahead of the 2027 elections, they should be informed that we are fully ready for them and the party they intend to float can certainly not match the APC,” Idris added. (NAN
