BREAKING: Ruud Van Nistelrooy Unveils As Manchester United Assistant Coach—According to Fabrizio Romano, Ruud van Nistelrooy has officially signed a two-year deal at Manchester United, becoming a new assistant coach at the club.

The Dutch coach is set to be unveiled as a new member of staff.

The former PSV Eindhoven manager will work alongside Erik ten Hag in coaching the first team as Monday marks the teams return to training. Van Nistelrooy is waiting on a work permit before the club officially announce the news.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy, already in Manchester to be unveiled as new Man United assistant coach. Exclusive story, set to be confirmed. Two year contract already signed, van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake will be both part of Erik ten Hag’s new staff.”

Van Nistelrooy needs no introduction to United supporters after spending some of his playing days at Old Trafford. The Dutch striker enjoyed an impressive spell with the Red Devils, and he’s gone on to establish himself as a coach since retiring.

The 48-year-old started his coaching career with the Netherlands, joining as assistant manager before moving to PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch coach has worked his way up from the U17s to eventually managing the senior squad, leaving the Eredivisie side in May 2023.

Van Nistelrooy had several options to choose from before returning to his former club.

The former Red Devils striker experienced an incredible spell at the club between 2001 and 2006, scoring 150 goals in 219 appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson. Now he’ll be hoping to lift trophies as a coach at the club. Manchester United are also preparing for the arrivals of ex-Go Ahead Eagles manager René Hake and Ajax goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar.
