Budding musician, Anthony Victor, professionally called Victony, has revealed how much of an influence award-winning rapper, Olamide, has been to him.
The ‘Soweto’ crooner disclosed that Olamide inspired the release of his debut album, ‘Stubborn’ even though he thought it was not time given his career trajectory.
Victony recalled during a recent interview with Channels TV that he wanted to drop an Extended Play [EP] because he felt he wasn’t ready to drop an album but the YBNL boss encouraged him to release a full-length project.
The 23-year-old singer disclosed that he gave a shoutout to Olamide on the album cover because it was a rarity for someone of his status to make out time to get involved.
He said; “Shout out to Olamide again. Olamide is basically the reason why I have an album. He encouraged me to go for it. I wanted to put out a smaller body of work like an EP because I didn’t think I was ready for an album but after meeting Olamide and the words of encouragement he gave to me.
“Someone at that level making out time for people in my generation to make sure that we are making the right moves and doing what is necessary for our careers, I had to give him a shout out to let people know he was part of everything that has to do with my album.”
