American Hip Hop superstar, Fat Joe has said that R&B singer, Chris Brown would have been the new generation “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson, if he never got into a controversy with his former girlfriend, Rihanna in the early days of his career.
The legendary rapper made this statement during an episode his podcast ‘The Biggest Fat Joe’. He said Chris Brown is the most talented singer, hitmaker and performer of this era.
Fat Joe emphasised the need for society to move past the issue which was over a decade ago, especially as he’s never gotten into such assault controversies again since that time.
He expressed disappointment that music lovers are not celebrating him as the King of R&B till date all because of that incident.
Fat Joe said: “If Chris Brown never got into the controversy with Rihanna, we would be calling him Michael Jackson right now. He’s the most talented singer, artist, performer and hitmaker of our time. There’s nobody even close to Chris Brown.
“And it’s time we move past it [his controversy with Rihanna]. It has been over 20 years and there is no more similar incident against him. What I’m trying to say is that it’s a shame that we’re lying and we’re not giving it up to the King of R&B.”
