Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy appears to have settled his rift with Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly called Wizkid, as evident in his recent post.
The music executive took to his Twitter account on Friday to show appreciation to Wizkid for endorsing his signee, Ayra Starr’s sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21.’
Big Wiz earlier stirred reactions when he promoted the album on his page not long after it dropped on Friday, May 31.
Sharing the cover for ‘The Year I Turned 21’ and its streaming link, the Starboy Entertainment wrote: “Superstar [love and eagle emojis].”
On seeing his post, Don Jazzy quoted it with the caption; “Thanks Big Wiz [eagle emoji].”
Meanwhile, this is coming weeks after Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy announced the release date for his signee, Ayra Starr’s second studio album despite the shade from Wiz.
He had revealed that the sophomore album titled ‘TYIAT21’ will drop in May 2024, but he did not give details about the exact date and time.
Don Baba J shared a video and captioned; “The sophomore album of my superstarr daughter @ayrastarr drops in May. #Mavin ???? ⭐️ ????????”
Recall that in April, Wizkid shaded the music executive following a comment from his signee, Ladipoe who had revisited his controversial “hip hop is dead” statement.
Ladipoe wrote; “Nigerian rappers that survived ‘hip hop is dead’ watching Afrobeat artists go through their own”.
A fan @miracledc12 called Wizkid’s attention to the shade on Monday morning but the Starboy boss rubbished both Jazzy and Ladipoe in a single tweet.
“Wizkid Ladipo still talk nonsense yesterday o, Abeg enter that one too????????????,” Miracle wrote.
The Grammy winner said he will never chat with the rapper because he is signed to a music label (Mavin Records) which is run by an influencer.
“Lol never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next,” Big Wiz wrote on Twitter.
