Nigerian life coach and writer, Solomon Buchi has opened up on why he stopped being an active member of the feminism community.
The controversial internet personality said being pro-feminism as a man does not pay. He stated this on Twitter while responding to a man who defended women amid an online drama over advocacy for the boy child.
On May 16, the world marked the International Day of the boy child and there was uproar on social media over why organizations and women did not celebrate boys as much as they do for girls.
Reacting, a man named Daddy Shindara said it is victim mentality and he queried men to know why they did ot do the celebration for boys instead of waiting for men.
He tweeted; “This victim mentality wey we dey criticize women for, na wetin una dey do o. Women celebrate themselves, who asked you people not to celebrate yourselves?”
Quoting his post, Solomon disclosed that as a former feminist he knows for a fact that such advocacy does not favour men.
In his words; “I used to be a male feminist like you. It doesn’t pay.”

Nigerian reality star, Tolani Shobajo better known as Tolanibaj, has stated that women are not supposed to compete with men.
She made this remark during a recent episode of Bahd and Boujee podcast with co-host, Moet Abebe interviewing night life promoter, Yhemo Lee.
Tolanibaj is of the opinion that the male and female genders are not equal as the woman is supposed to complement the man and not be in a competition with him.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate said the aforementioned reasons are why she cannot refer to herself as a feminist.
“I feel like women are not supposed to compete with men, they are just supposed to complement them. That’s why I can’t say I am a feminist because I don’t see how if a man is doing gra gra, as a woman I should be doing gra gra too”, she said.
